Dopo essere stata immortalata vestita d’iconici Halston sul set di Sex and the City 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKQ5yRFkBnE) si è iniziato a parlare di una possible collaborazione di Sarah Jessica Parker per la rinnovata linea di abbigliamento. Ed è ora ufficiale che il marchio abbia nominato l’attrice, consulente creativa di Halston Heritage.

Roy Halston Frowick (nella foto quì sopra) sembrava destinato ad attrarre le celebrities. Alto, belloccio e terribilmente affascinante, cominciò creando cappelli per le star a Chicago, successivamente lavorando per il department store Bergdorf Goodman di New York e disegnando il famoso cappello che Jacqueline Kennedy indossò il giorno in cui suo marito fu proclamato presidente degli Stati Uniti. Nel 1968 fondò la sua linea d’abbigliamento femminile e nel 1972 fu incoronato “miglior stilista d’America”. Il suo stile di vita fu tanto glamourous quanto quello delle donne che vestiva.
Passava le notti uscendo in compagnia di icone come Andy Warhol, Elisabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli e Bianca Jagger (quì sopra in foto con lo stilista) allo Studio 54. Alla fine degli Anni Settanta iniziò a prolungare le notti mondane cominciando a lavorare sempre più tardi il giorno successivo. Lasciò il marchio negli Anni Ottanta e morì nel 1990 all’età di 57 anni, per una malattia relativa all’AIDS.

After stepping out in looks from Halston on the Sex and the City 2 set, rumors sparked that Sarah Jessica Parker was about to ink a deal with the company. And now, Sarah Jessica will be taking on an creative director, for Halston Heritage, the company’s just-launched secondary collection that features updated archival Halston pieces. The dress is from legendary New York fashion house Halston, recently revivid by Jimmy Choo president Tamara Mellon. So what exactly is Halston? The label pretty much defined the '70s. When we think on Bianca Jagger, Donna Summer or any other disco icon, it's the Halston style we visualise. Tom Ford has claimed that the luxurious sex appeal of the clothes he created for Gucci owed much to Halston's distinctive aesthetic. Roy Halston Frowick seemed destined to attract celebrities. Tall, good-looking and impossibly charming he started out in Chicago creating hats for stars. He moved to New York to work for department store Bergdorf Goodman, eventually designing the famous hat that Jacqueline Kennedy wore when her husband was inaugurated as President. He started his womenswear label in 1968 and by 1972 was crowned "best designer in America". His lifestyle was as glamourous as the women he dressed. He spent his nights hanging out with icons like Andy Warhol, Elisabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli and Bianca Jagger at Studio 54, quickly becoming a celebrity in his own right. Previously something of a workaholic, Halston's party lifestyle eventually caught up with him. By the late '70s he was clubbing until 5am and not starting work until noon. He left the label in the '80s and in 1990 died, aged 57, from an AIDS-related illness. After wearing the best clothes in the world, who better to launch the new collection than the New York fashion icon and party animal Sarah Jessica Parker?
